CG Building & Restoration Ltd carried out specialist conservation works to the Grade II listed Boynton Hall Bridge, an elegant five‑span 18th‑century structure crossing the Gypsey Race in East Yorkshire. The project focused on stabilising and restoring the historic masonry while preserving the bridge’s architectural character.
Our craftsmen rebuilt two collapsed arches using original stone, completed intrados and extrados repairs with traditional lime mortars, and restored ashlar and external elevations to protect the bridge’s long‑term integrity. Working directly over the Gypsey Race required careful environmental management, achieved through the use of a Watergate cofferdam system to safely divert the watercourse during construction.
This project reflects our commitment to heritage conservation, traditional materials and skilled craftsmanship — ensuring this important piece of East Yorkshire’s history continues to stand proudly for generations to come.
