CG Building & Restoration Ltd continues to make excellent progress at our Bishopthorpe project — a significant residential conversion transforming a former doctor’s surgery into a contemporary four‑bedroom home. Over recent months, the team has been steadily advancing through key stages of the build, with high‑quality workmanship evident throughout.
The structural reconfiguration phase has now been completed, including the removal of internal and external walls and preparation for new foundations. Excavation works have progressed smoothly, allowing us to begin rebuilding the property’s new layout with improved flow, space and functionality.
Externally, the new roof structure has been finished using 20/20 Sandtoft tiles, providing a durable and visually refined finish. Accoya fascia and soffits, expertly produced by Davies Joinery, have been installed, and Accoya windows are now being fitted across the property. A bespoke hand‑carved date stone from Wilton Fell has also been set into the gable, adding a unique architectural detail that celebrates the building’s new chapter.
Inside, stud walls are taking shape, defining each room and forming the backbone of the new layout. Mechanical and electrical installations — including MVHR, heating systems and pipework — are well underway, and electric Velux units have been fitted to enhance natural light and ventilation throughout the home.
Alongside the main building, groundwork has begun for the new garden store, with footings prepared and ready for construction.
