The Mount, York
Back at the start of the year, we announced we had secured another York City Centre project to fully restore a beautiful grade 2 listed mid-terrace townhouse on The Mount. Working alongside Niche Design Architects of Ilkley and our Private Client works were to include internal alterations and a rear extension to provide extended living and entertaining areas.
Well, a lot has happened since works began back in January. Working through the COVID-19 pandemic with limited material resources and reduced staff, the CG Building and Restoration team have worked hard to push the project forward.
A big milestone last week was the removal of the scaffold to the front elevation exposing the new lime pointed brickwork and refurbished windows. This week we are making a start on the new rear single-storey kitchen extension which will provide extended lounging / entertaining space as well a new reconfigured high spec kitchen.
Elsewhere in the house, we are renovating 4 bathrooms, plastering, and decorating throughout, as well as installing a new heating system and a total re-wire.
We are currently on track to complete the works at the beginning of September.
