Following major fire damage a full repair and restoration project on the 16th century property was carried out.
The works included dismantling and rebuilding stonework to a gable using stone and infill material re-claimed from the building and lime pointing to the gable and one other elevation.
A new traditional timber roof was constructed incorporating seasoned oak purlins and re-roofing with new clay tiles and associated leadwork, rebuilding a brick chimney and re-lining with a clay liner.
Substantial internal re-ordering including lime plaster, new windows, new internal joinery, installing seasoned oak floor beams to replace steel beams to support the first floor, repairs to the staircase and a new oak balustrade, full plumbing, heating and electric installation, wood burning stoves & decorations.
